Magong Airport (MZG) is a regional airport located in Huxi Township, Penghu County, Taiwan. It’s situated about 8 km (5 miles) from downtown Magong. The airport officially opened in 1977. Magong is the largest city in the Penghu archipelago and is known for its rich maritime culture. Transportation to/from airport

Taxi: A taxi stand outside the arrivals exit operates 24/7. Standard rides to central Magong cost approximately NT$300–350 per trip and take 10–15 minutes. Drivers accept cash and, in some cases, mobile payment apps. Taxis queue in order, but wait times rarely exceed five minutes even during peak periods.

Train: Magong Airport is not connected to any rail network. The nearest train services run on Taiwan’s main island, accessible via a ferry transfer from Penghu Harbor. Shuttle: Several major hotels and resorts in Magong City provide complimentary airport shuttle services with advance reservation, typically operating between 06:00 and 22:00. Additionally, the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle ‘Penghu Airport Express’ runs every 40 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00, connecting the airport with Magong Harbor and select city stops for NT$50 per trip.

Car rentals: Car and scooter rental counters line the arrivals hall, offering vehicles from local companies such as Chailease and Hotai Rent-a-Car. Drivers must be at least 20 years old, hold a valid international or Taiwanese license, and pay by credit card deposit.
