Soi Dog Foundation

You might not imagine that visiting an animal shelter would be high on your list of things to do when visiting a remote Thai island. But reconsider. This cutting-edge cat and dog shelter is a popular tourist attraction. In an effort to help the tens of thousands of street cats and dogs and stop the trade in dog meat, the Soi Dog Foundation was founded in 2003. Today, visitors can meet and interact with hundreds of animals at the shelter.
