Goa Airport (GOI) is an international airport located in Dabolim, Goa, India. It’s situated about 29 km (18 miles) from the state capital, Panaji. The airport officially opened in 1955. Rest Area and Sleeping in Airport
GOI lacks dedicated rest zones or cots. Most overnight travellers use the landside arrivals area’s benches and fixed seating to catch sleep. The terminal remains staffed late into the evening, providing added security, but intermittent announcements and background music can be disruptive—earplugs and securing luggage to a fixed object are advised for safer rest.

Transportation to/from airport

Taxi: Prepaid taxis operate from the booth in the Arrivals hall; a fixed fare to Panaji is about ₹1,200. Metered yellow-black cabs are also available, as are app-based services such as GoaMiles, Ola and Uber. Expect a 35–45 minute journey to central Panaji or around 40 minutes to Calangute, with daytime fares typically higher during peak hours.

Train: Although GOI has no on-site rail link, Karmali station lies just 12 km away, on the Konkan Railway network connecting Mumbai, Mangalore and southern India. Bus: State-run Kadamba Transport Corporation runs bus route 61 between GOI and Panaji, departing hourly from outside the Arrivals exit at fares of approximately ₹60–₹75. Shuttle: Several nearby hotels—including Mariaariose and Coconut Creek—offer complimentary guest shuttles; confirm availability when booking. No official baggage-storage or locker facilities operate inside GOI’s terminal.
